Plow Day
The Jones Farm, located on Hwy 268 (mile marker 7.7) hosts its annual Plow Day, celebrating traditional farming methods, on Saturday, May 12. The 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. event features horse- and mule-drawn plowing demonstrations, local foods, wagon rides, music making and examples of the “old ways” of farming practiced by the Valley’s early settlers. In the evening, a barn dance will be held at the farm’s historic 100 year-old white barn. Lessons will be offered at 6:30 p.m. and the dance begins at 7 p.m. For more information, contact (828) 726-0323.
